1. How much does it cost to advertise on Meowoof.ie and how long does an ad last?

Note: All ads on Meowoof.ie are free for all users until 31/10/2024.

The pricing for ads on Meowoof.ie from 01/11/2024 is as follows:

Dog(s) for sale ad: €14.99 for a 60-day advertisement.

Dog(s) for sale ad (bump to top): €4.99 to bump the ad to the top of the listing, extending the ad by 5 days.

Dog for stud ad: €9.99 per month or €79 per year.

Cat(s) for sale ad: €6.99 for a 60-day advertisement.

Cat(s) for sale ad (bump to top): €2.99 to bump the ad to the top of the listing, extending the ad by 5 days.

Cat for stud ad: €4.99 per month or €49 per year.

Vet practice ads: €9.99 per month or €79 per year.

We offer free accounts to registered charities and animal shelters to help rehome their dogs.

2. Do you offer refunds?

Currently, we do not offer refunds. If your ad cannot be published, we will assist you in providing the correct information. If your ad is published but your dog hasn’t sold, you may request a one-time ad extension, and we can help you enhance your ad description to facilitate the sale.

3. Why do I have to provide my mobile number?

This is a security measure to ensure the authenticity of our members. We send an SMS to verify that members are who they claim to be. This verification process also ensures that you are in Ireland and helps prevent multiple sign-ups. Both sellers and buyers must be verified before they can send messages and post ads.

4. Why do I have to provide microchip information?

Providing microchip information is a legal requirement for all dogs advertised on our site, in compliance with S.I. No. 681 of 2019 ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE (SALE OR SUPPLY OF PET ANIMALS) REGULATIONS 2019. All ads for puppies and dogs must include their microchip numbers. For more details, refer to S.I. No. 681.

5. What information should I include in my advert?

Fill out all the fields in your ad. Although many fields are optional, completing them helps potential buyers understand more about your pet and increases the chances of attracting the right buyers. You can update your ad at any time. Since February 2020, microchip information for dogs is required. Don't forget to add high-quality photos!

6. Can I add photos to my advert?

Yes, you can add up to 10 images to each ad. Ads with more pictures generally perform better. Ensure that your pets appear healthy in the photos, as any signs of poor health may result in the removal of your ad and the suspension of your account.

7. What should I avoid including in my advert?

For your privacy and safety, do not include your exact address or EirCode (Postcode) in your advert. Using our website for communication ensures that all parties are verified by SMS.

8. What breed of dog or cat should I choose?

The best breed for you depends on your personal preferences and lifestyle. Dogs and cats come in various shapes, sizes, and personalities. We recommend reading our Buying Advice guide and conducting further research online about specific breeds to find the perfect match.

9. How can I report an advert?

To report an ad, email support@meowoof.ie with the link to the ad and the reason for your report. Alternatively, you can click the "Report Ad" link found on each ad and fill out the form. We will investigate the issue promptly.
